What is the Digital Access Loan Fund? The loan fund is a program established by the One Economy Corporation with Hope Community Credit Union that allows eligible participants to purchase a computer at an affordable price. The Digital Access Loan Fund is underwritten in part by a grant from Cisco Systems. The Loan Fund also allows participants to enhance their existing credit or to establish new credit.
What is the interest rate? The interest rate is 5%.
How long is the loan? Approved participants may select 6-month, 12-month, 18-month, or 24-month terms.
How much is the loan? The maximum allowed under this program is $450 (with $50 deposit).
How and where may I submit my loan application? Applications may be submitted:
at the School's "Open House" which will be held once per month
via mail or in person at HOPE Community Credit Union's branch offices
What documents do I need to provide to HOPE?
Copy of current, government issued ID is mandatory (Driver’s License, State ID Card, Military ID, etc.)
Copy of Social Security card if available.
A completed HOPE Community Credit Union Membership Application
Each applicant is required to establish a membership account with HOPE Community Credit Union.
A completed HOPE Community Credit Union Consumer Loan Application
Verification of Income for each applicant: Copy of Last 2 pay stubs or copy of W-2 form and income tax return
How soon after submitting my application will I know if I am approved? A credit union representative will notify applicants within 36 hours of receiving the complete application which includes appropriate ID, and verification of income.
Will I receive help if not approved? A HOPE Community Credit Union loan officer will discuss in detail with the applicant the reason(s) a loan has been denied. The loan officer will be available to counsel the applicant with regard to credit issues if the applicant wishes to receive such assistance.
How much is the deposit required for the loan? A minimum deposit of $50 is required when the loan application is submitted. The funds will be deposited into a share account and applied toward the computer purchase. The deposit will be refunded to the applicant if the loan is not approved or the applicant withdraws his/her request for the loan.
What methods of payments do you accept for the deposit for the loan? The deposit may be made by personal check or money order at the time the application is submitted. Cash may be deposited at HOPE Community Credit Union’s branches or at any credit union service center after applicant has become a member.
How long will it take for me to receive my computer once my loan is approved? Approved applicants will receive their computers within 14 business days from the date the approved loan is closed.
